A tourist hub in the central region of Tottori Prefecture and an express train gateway to Osaka, Kyoto, and the rest of San’in Region. From the terminal, you can take buses to many tourist spots in the region. In the evening, you can see many Onsen hotel shuttle buses picking up their guests.

Mt. Mitoku, Sanbutsu-ji Temple

Mt. Mitoku, Sanbutsu-ji Temple
Sanbutsu-ji is a temple dedicated to Tendai Buddhism and Shugendo. In 849 CE, Ennin, also known as Jikaku Daishi, a priest of Tendai Buddhism, made and placed three Buddhas in the temple: Siddhartha Gautama, Amida and Vairocana (respectively Shaka Nyorai, Amida Nyorai, and Dainichi Nyorai in Japanese). That is why the temple is called Sanbutsu-ji literally “temple of the three Buddhas”, and the temple is the starting point of the road to Nageiredo Hall, as well as the base of faith for Mt. Mitoku.

Tottori Nijisseiki Pear Museum

Tottori Nijisseiki Pear Museum
This is the only museum in Japan that features pears, which amusingly introduces the history of pears and its industry with interaction between consumers and producers. The pear tasting offers three varieties throughout the year, and is much popular!

Kurayoshi Shirakabe Dozo-gun

Kurayoshi Shirakabe Dozo-gun
Along with the Tamagawa River, standing in neat rows, the Kurayoshi Shirakabe Dozo-gun buildings were mostly built in Edo and Meiji periods around 1600s-1800s, and the area is designated as Important Preservation District for Group of Traditional Buildings. Stone bridges over Tamagawa, plastered white walls, and akagawara red roof tiles – strolling the historical streets will make you feel comfortable more than you imagine.
